Week 5 Aug 3-5 Food 9-10:30am
Food and clay go together like bread and butter. In this 3 day week we will make things to serve food from like plates and bowl and some fun fake food to serve on them.
All students will be given an opportunity to use the wheel to create items such as cups, mugs, bowls, vases or plates. All pieces created during class time can be painted with a variety of colors. Work will then be dried in the studio, fired in a kiln 2 times, the second time will include a clear shiny glaze that is durable, food safe, microwave and dishwasher safe. Work will be ready for pick up at the studio in 2 weeks. If you are traveling you maybe choose to have work shipped. Cost will depend on amount, weight and distance.
Ages 5 and up

The summer of 2020 is like no other. After a 3 month long shut down, I am just reopening Neighborhood Clay. I am really looking forward to having students young and old in my studio again. In order to keep us all healthy I am following the rules outlined by the Maine CDC. If you are from out of state, please make sure that you have followed the guidelines set by the state to be engaging in public activity. Students are asked to wash their hands upon arrival and to try to keep a mask on the entire class. I will do the same. Please do not come to class or send your child to class if you or an immediate family member is sick (cough, runny nose and/or fever). I will keep a list of all students in class in case we experience any sicknesses students should be made aware of.
